I came across this interesting contemporary artist when I did some research for my art final project about Victorian era art. When I saw his work, the series of four different “Victorian Lady” painting with the same theme depicting a lone woman gazing out far beyond the French doors of her exquisite Victorian-era room, I thought this was painted during the Victorian era in the early 1900s. OBrien created the “contemporary romantic realism.” He usually paints imaginary European scenery, so beautiful that make the audience want to be there.
